New research by PureGym has studied more than 60 theme parks from around the globe.
They analysed overall size as well as the average temperature, number of rides and attractions, average queue time and maximum G-Force on a single ride, to give each park an overall ‘exertion’ score.
With a park spanning more than 210 hectares and multiple worlds, Universal Orlando in Florida was revealed as the most physically demanding theme park to explore, scoring 83.01 out of a possible 100.
Hong Kong’s Ocean park followed in second (scoring 82.1) while the Disney Animal Kingdom (80.4), also in Orlando, ranked third.
The Hong Kong attraction is often touted as one of the most beautiful of any theme parks in the world, thanks to the panoramic bay views on offer, while Disney Animal Kingdom is one of the largest, offering safari drives and 3D cinemas.
North American and Asian theme parks performed well in the top 20, with eight and seven theme parks apiece in the top rankings, with Dream World, Imagicaa and Universal Studios Japan ranking in the top 10 for Asia.
