West Beach Parks Golf has recorded a 17% increase in participation across its golf courses and driving ranges over the past two years, significantly outpacing the 9% year-on-year growth reported nationally by Golf Australia in its December 2024 report. To build on this momentum, the facility has rebranded as The Pat G.C., aiming to further attract social golfers in South Australia.

According to West Beach Parks, the surge in participation has been driven by younger players, including more women and girls, embracing the sport for its social and recreational appeal.

Over the past five years, social golf has experienced a 46% growth in South Australia, making it the fastest-growing form of the sport in the state. South Australia also leads the nation in social golf club participation.

LIV Golf Adelaide and Technology Driving Growth

The growing popularity of LIV Golf Adelaide has played a key role in boosting participation, with West Beach Parks Golf reporting an additional 8% increase in usage across its courses and driving range during the three-day tournament.

Advancements in digital technology have also contributed to the surge in participation, particularly through the TrackMan Range driving system, which allows golfers to take part in interactive games, skill challenges, and virtual rounds on world-renowned courses. Usage of TrackMan driving ranges at West Beach Parks has grown by 14% per month, highlighting its appeal among modern golfers.

A New Era for Social Golf at The Pat G.C.

The recent rebrand of West Beach Parks Golf to The Pat G.C. reflects a shift towards a more social, inclusive, and affordable golfing experience. Many players are moving away from traditional, expensive golf club memberships in favour of a relaxed, community-focused environment.

West Beach Parks CEO Kate Anderson says golf is undergoing a major transformation, driven by a new generation of players.

“This new generation values the social side of golf—playing with friends, having fun, and challenging each other on our courses and driving range,” said Ms. Anderson.

“The Pat G.C. rebrand reflects our commitment to creating a fresh, fun, and welcoming space for these players. LIV Golf Adelaide has also played a significant role in reshaping perceptions of golf, showing that the sport can be fun, relaxed, and social.”

“The introduction of TrackMan golf-ball tracking technology across our 15 driving ranges has been a game-changer. Players can now engage in skill-based challenges or virtually experience some of the world’s best courses—right here at West Beach.”
