Q: You operate in more than 100 countries globally. Why has it taken so long to arrive in Australia?
A: Any expansion requires carefully considered strategies before making such a move. Australia has always been on our radar for expansion, which we see as the global headquarters to service our western markets.
In business you only get one shot to do it right and to create this new global headquarters you need to engage the right people and have the funding.
That funding came through a prominent Indian corporate technology and investment group whose $US50 million in Series A investment into Nexus DMC parent company, ORN Ventures, has made this opening a reality.
Q: How important is it to Nexus to have a presence in Australia?
A: Nexus DMC’s expansion into Australia and New Zealand has introduced an innovative, new platform to the market that provides efficient, cost-effective travel solutions to the travel industry and consumers.
Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands are also an essential part of our global platform. These are sought after, high yielding, long stay destinations.

We connect global wholesalers to agents under one roof, reducing the cost of sale, eliminating the pain points agents usually face when working with multiple suppliers and juggling various payment terms.
Q: Will the launch of Nexus create new jobs in the Australian market?
A: The expansion of Nexus DMC into the Australian market has already created new jobs in the Australian market. Specifically, the opening of our headquarters in Melbourne will see more than 70 jobs created, stimulating the local visitor economy.
Q: Why should travel agents be excited about your arrival Down Under?

We want the most complicated itineraries to be executed and booked with unprecedented ease and efficiency through this streamlined client booking platform.
By consolidating processes, Nexus DMC not only makes life easier for travel agents but also passes on the benefits of bulk buying to agents reducing their cost of sale and improving margins.
Nexus DMC also has a global network of destination management offices which further allows agents to continue to look after their customer throughout their trip.
Q: Finally, your aim is to become the world’s largest vacation business. How do you plan to achieve this?
