At the Vietnam – India Business Forum in New Delhi, India, Vietjet was delighted to welcome its 200 millionth passenger, marking a significant milestone in its journey of bringing Vietnam to the world and the world to the beautiful Vietnam.

 

Vietjet also announced the launch of a new route connecting the Indian city of Ahmedabad with Da Nang – the most liveable city in Vietnam. The new route is expected to operate starting October 2024.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with high-level delegation and the business community of the two countries, congratulated Vietjet on reaching the 200-million passenger milestone and welcomed the new flight route during his state visit to India.

The 200 millionth passenger of Vietjet was Mr. Sandeep Mehta, an Indian businessman who received a gift of one year of free international flights operated by Vietjet.

Ahmedabad is the largest city in the state of Gujarat, known for its unique beautiful and impressive architecture under a combination of ancient and modern influences. Gujarat is home to many large Indian companies investing in Vietnam. Meanwhile, Da Nang is a must-visit destination in the Central Vietnam Heritage Journey, with stunning beaches, luxurious resorts, the Golden Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, Ba Na Hills, Hoi An, Furama Resorts, and more.

To celebrate the milestone, Vietjet is offering a week-long promotion from 2 August – 8 August 2024 (GMT+7), with tickets priced for as low as AUD199 (*) on international routes connecting Australia and Vietnam and other Vietnamese domestic routes. The discounted tickets will be available on the website www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air mobile app, with travel period from 4 September 2024 to 22 May 2025 (**). The availability of discounted seats varies depending on the route and travel dates.

Vietjet has been the pioneering airline to open direct flight routes connecting Vietnam and India since 2019, bringing convenient and affordable travel options to the people and travellers. Vietjet now operates 7 routes with 56 weekly flights, connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with major cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Kochi, as well as popular destinations like Bodh Gaya, Varanasi, etc. in India – the country of 1.4 billion people. The total number of passengers Vietjet transported between Vietnam and India has reached nearly 1.3 million.

In Australia, Vietjet operates 7 routes with 58 weekly flights. It offers direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and five major Australian cities, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Additionally, it provides direct flights between Hanoi and Melbourne, as well as Sydney.
