United Airlines is proud to announce its continued support for Ballet  International Gala (BIG) Live as the principal and exclusive airline partner for the second consecutive year.

Proudly presented by United Airlines, BIG Live will tour The Nutcracker in multiple cities across  Australia and New Zealand, known for its timeless classical ballet that has captured the  imagination of audiences for generations.

The Nutcracker will perform in Perth, Auckland, Hobart, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Adelaide,  Canberra, Gold Coast, and Melbourne between October and December 2024.

To coincide with the partnership, United invited The Nutcracker and Snow Queen to Brisbane  International Airport, capturing them dancing on the tarmac beside the United Boeing 787-9  Dreamliner aircraft before it departed for San Francisco.

BIG Live has also produced a humorous new video, showcasing The Nutcracker’s journey to  Australia for his performances. After a frantic rush to the airport, he boards a United aircraft only to find a Snow Queen waiting for him, as they prepare for their departure flying United Polaris business class.

Tim Wallis, United Airlines Regional Manager – Australia, New Zealand, and Tahiti, shares enthusiasm about the partnership.

“As our first collaboration in the ballet and arts community in Australia and New Zealand, our partnership with Ballet International Gala has been very special to us. We take great pride in continuing to champion and support them across both countries,” says Tim Wallis.

Joel Burke and Khalid Tarabay, Directors of BIG Live, express their excitement about their partnership with United.

“Thanks to the support of United, BIG Live has underlined Australasia’s reputation as a global destination for international ballet and the world’s best ballet artists,” says Joel Burke.

“We look forward to growing with United in the future, and to the next chapter of our journey,  which will see BIG Live spread its wings overseas,” adds Khalid Tarabay.

The magic of the Christmas season will culminate with the inaugural BIG Christmas Spectacular,  presented by United Airlines, premiering at the iconic Sydney Opera House to commence the  December festivities calendar.
