Tourism Ireland has unveiled its programme of St Patrick’s Week promotions, with this time of year both attracting visitors to the island and teeing up bookings for the season ahead through the heightened profile created.

A new video wishes the world a Happy St Patrick’s Day using a haunting cover of Breathless by The Corrs, performed by Irish band Lemoncello. The video includes stunning footage of Ireland and captures the excitement of festivities happening around the island on 17th March. The message is that, while the world goes green on one day of the year, Ireland’s beauty is evergreen, with landscapes and scenery that will leave you breathless. To view the video, click here. It will deliver an estimated 29 million quality opportunities to see what the island of Ireland has to offer as a holiday destination.

The new video is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s extensive programme of activity for St Patrick’s Day this year. In Australia, Tourism Ireland’s ‘Fill Your Heart with Ireland’ consumer marketing campaign will go live on St Patrick’s Day, Monday 17th March, and run through until the end of April, with a second burst of activity running in the later half of the year. The campaign will build on the success of the 2024 campaign and will run on social channels, including Facebook and Instagram, and will also utilise dynamic video on YouTube and Netflix, as well as audio advertising on Spotify. This campaign is estimated to generate 25m quality opportunities to see from the Australian Audience.

Alice Mansergh, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, said: “St Patrick’s Day provides a unique opportunity to showcase the very best of Ireland to the world. This is a time of year that attracts an estimated 100,000 overseas visitors to the island. Promotion of all we offer visitors at this time of year leads to the highest level of online research for ‘holidays to Ireland’ annually, so the spotlight for Ireland created during St Patrick’s Week tees up spring and summer travel ahead. This year, we are excited to bring our new St Patrick’s Day video, which is a moment to highlight that, while the world goes green for one day, Ireland’s beauty is evergreen, and we look forward to inspiring even more people to visit our island and experience its magic for themselves.”
