If you want to get your groove on, head to Prague. For a great night out, avoid Stockholm.
The experts at OLBG have analysed factors such as costs, safety and the number of nightlife venues to reveal the best party capitals to visit in Europe.
Prague has been crowned party central, with a nightlife score of 8.44 out of 10. The Czech capital boasts some of the cheapest domestic beer in Europe and plenty of bars and casinos. It’s also one of the safest cities on the list.
Slovakia may not be your first thought for tripping the light fantastic but in second place is Bratislava, with a nightlife score of 8.16 out of 10. The city ranks especially well for its Airbnb, domestic beer and taxi costs.
The top three is completed by Valencia, with a nightlife score of 7.35 out of 10. The Spanish city ranks highly for its number of casinos, domestic beer prices and taxi costs. Spain’s third most populous city is also deemed safe and has reasonable Airbnb prices.
At the other end of the scale, Stockholm only notched a nightlife score of 2.28/10, with one of the lowest number of bars and nightclubs at 2.31 per 100,000 people.
A night out in the Swedish capital will also come at a cost with an average beer costing €6.92 (approx. $AU11.40) per drink.
Poland’s capital Warsaw has the cheapest Airbnb prices in Europe, costing just over €74 ($AU122) per night. Depending on the location and the time of your stay, some Airbnbs are available for less than €30 (approx. $AU50) per night.
Manchester takes top spot with the most bars and nightclubs, at just over 55 per 100,000 people. The English city has 218 bars and nightclubs, the 14th-highest total on the list.
Its high number of bars and nightclubs means there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether that is a traditional pub, cocktail bar or unique venue.
The top 10 list is: Prague, Bratislava, Krakow, Valencia, Lisbon, Madrid, Warsaw, Budapest, Helsinki and Istanbul.
