The event – which is spread across CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park and the Pullman Melbourne On The Park – was initially scheduled to run a week earlier but the date clashed with other major travel industry gatherings.

Managing Director Christian Hunter says Travellers Choice decided to ‘lift and shift’ the conference by one week to assist preferred partners, who were struggling to attend multiple events in November.

Mr Hunter added that it was disappointing the rescheduling was required and called for better communication and co-operation within the travel industry.

“Since we released our original dates back in November 2024, we have seen two additional retail travel events announced for the same weekend, which reflects poorly on the professionalism of our industry and puts undue pressure on our preferred partners,” said Hunter.

“Suppliers are facing the same staffing pressures as retail agents and the major groups owe it to them to work together respectfully to develop an events calendar that avoids unnecessary clashes.”
