Royal Caribbean is expanding its local sales team off the back of record performance for the brand in Australia and New Zealand.

The cruise line has made four dynamic new hires to support the growth of its trade business across retail and digital partnerships.

Roberta Chaplin joined Royal Caribbean earlier this year to manage the Flight Centre Travel Group partnership. Roberta started her career with Flight Centre and joined Royal Caribbean after leading the after sales team at MyCruises.

Alex Doyle joined as key account manager for digital partnerships, bringing multi-channel media and marketing expertise from Tesco’s Dunnhumby, the world’s leading customer data science company. Alex spent her first six months in Australia at a digital marketing agency where she led the Oroton account across their online media channels.

Catherine Marshall continues her impressive travel career with Royal Caribbean to manage the wider Helloworld network for the cruise line. Cath is highly regarded by the industry following roles at airlines, hotel wholesaling, insurance and agency sales most recently at Express Travel Group.

Ruby Edwards joined Royal Caribbean last month as part of the digital trade sales team. Ruby co-founded Shit You Should Care About, a global online media company with over 3.5m followers. Ruby has worked with Live Nation on partnership execution and campaigns.

Royal Caribbean’s director of sales Dave Humphreys said the new starters have diverse expertise and each are highly respected within their relevant industries.

“Bolstering our trade sales team ensures we are positioned to build on the momentum of our trusted trade relationships,” Mr Humphreys said.

“Our trade partners are critical to our success in Australia and New Zealand and investing in them is core to Royal Caribbean’s strategy.

“Royal Caribbean are enjoying success both locally through our world-class ships sailing from our homeports in Brisbane and Sydney, as well as building on the global momentum of game-changing ships Icon of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas, he said.

Dave Humphreys also announced a series of internal sales promotions to support the trade.

Nicole Stojic is promoted to Head of Retail Sales, Lachy Sudlow to Head of Digital Sales and Janelle Daniel to Head of Sales Enablement.

Continuing the growth, Royal Caribbean Australia and New Zealand has additional new roles in sales, marketing and trade support.
