The Socceroos are set to go head-to-head with Palestine’s national men’s team this winter, in a blockbuster football match announced today by the Western Australian Government and Football Australia.

The match is the final Round Two fixture for the Socceroos in their FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification journey, and will take place on Tuesday, 11 June 2024.

Taking place at the award-winning HBF Park, the match will utilise the stadium’s world-class facilities, which were renovated as part of a $35 million upgrade project in preparation for Perth hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup in July and August 2023.

The announcement comes less than a week after it was confirmed that WA will host a match between leading Italian football teams AC Milan and AS Roma at Optus Stadium this May, in what is shaping up to be yet another year of action-packed international football events in Perth.

WA continues to prove itself as a world-class host of global football blockbusters following last October’s record-breaking Matildas matches for the Asian Cup Qualifiers, the London Derby with English Premier League teams Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in July, and five FIFA Women’s World Cup matches across July and August 2023.

It also adds to the growing list of international sporting events being hosted by Western Australia, including the HSBC SVNS, United Cup, Triple World Title Boxing matches and the Wallabies vs Springboks.

Presale tickets are on sale from tomorrow and general public from Thursday, 14 March.
