Experienced cruise industry executive David Siewers has been given the role as the company looks to target global growth and support travellers and agents across the world.

Most recently Mr Siewers served as Director of Northeast Sales at Celebrity Cruises where he spearheaded the company’s first-ever localised marketing program, increased booking volumes, managed agency partners and ultimately mentored and developed market managers, who under his guidance were responsible for more than 700 agency relationships.

He also played a pivotal role in guiding regional sales teams and agency partners through the unprecedented global suspension of sailings from 2020-2021, his leadership was instrumental in rebuilding momentum post-pandemic.

With a strong background in international market development and a proven ability to navigate complex global challenges, Siewers is well positioned to lead Azamara Cruises’ worldwide expansion.

His appointment underscores the brand’s commitment to strengthening its presence beyond North America, ensuring continued success for travel partners and guests in key international markets.

“I have long admired Azamara Cruises’ commitment to immersive travel experiences and cannot wait to begin my tenure in May,” said Mr Siewers.

“I look forward to leading our international teams to ensure we continue growing sales performances in each market, while strengthening existing relationships and finding new opportunities with valuable trade partners around the world”.

Mr Siewers will officially assume his role on May 22 and will be based in Miami.

Meanwhile Azamara is promising to take immersive travel to the next level with Destination Immersion® Elevated.

This latest initiative brings each port to life, with new programming surrounding destination expansion, authentic local cuisine, cultural engagement and elevated excursions.

Azamara Cruises will more than triple their specialty voyages from six to 22 with this new initiative, including the introduction of three Solar Eclipse cruises in 2026.

In addition, Azamara will offer 33 country-intensive voyages and 25 new ports in 2025-2026, providing guests more time ashore than any other cruise line – with 51% of time in port being late nights or overnights.

This extended time allows for deeper exploration, meaningful connections and a more immersive travel experience.
