Malaysia Airlines has officially resumed its direct flights to Paris, marking its return to the French capital with the relaunch of its inaugural service to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Flight MH22 departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 11:45 PM local time (MYT) on 22 March 2025, arriving in Paris at 6:40 AM local time (CET). This reinstated service represents Malaysia Airlines’ 68th destination, further strengthening its position as a key gateway to Asia and beyond.
To commemorate this milestone, a special send-off event was held at the departure gate, where passengers received exclusive goodie bags. The event was attended by senior representatives from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), including Boo Hui Yee, Group Chief Financial Officer, and Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines.
The inaugural flights were met with an overwhelming response, with passenger loads reaching 95% for MH22 and 98% for the return flight, MH21—highlighting the strong demand for travel between Malaysia and France. Initially, Malaysia Airlines will operate four weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Paris from 22 to 27 March 2025, before increasing to daily services from 29 March onwards.
“The launch of our direct service to Paris marks a significant milestone for Malaysia Airlines as we expand our European footprint and reconnect Malaysia with one of the world’s most iconic destinations,” Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at MAG, said.
“This route reinforces our role as the gateway to Asia and beyond while catering to the increasing demand for seamless travel between Malaysia and France. Last year, we introduced the ‘Time for Paris’ campaign to inspire travellers to rediscover the magic of the City of Light with our signature Malaysian Hospitality. We are delighted to now bring this vision to life and look forward to welcoming passengers on board for an unforgettable journey.”
To enhance the travel experience, Malaysia Airlines has also introduced the ‘Time for Memorable Journeys’ Pocketbook for all passengers flying on this new route. The Paris edition—the first in an ongoing series—offers useful travel tips, including essential French phrases, local etiquette, and insights into Parisian cuisine, enabling travellers to explore the city with confidence.
Additionally, Malaysia Airlines’ longstanding partnership with American Airlines expands travel options for passengers flying to and from Paris. With this reinstated route, travellers can now access four additional U.S. destinations from Paris via CDG, including New York (JFK), Dallas (DFW), Miami (MIA), and Orlando (ORD), further strengthening Malaysia Airlines’ global connectivity.
