Hosted on the boutique 24-metre catamaran Fiordland Jewel, it will be the only truly small group luxury lunch and cruise offering in Piopiotahi Milford Sound when it launches on November 9.

Up to 22 guests can enjoy the cruise in this famous UNESCO World Heritage area, accompanied by in-depth commentary from the skipper.

The delicious two-course lunch will be carefully crafted by their onboard chef featuring seasonal and locally sourced produce, such as Fiordland blue cod, Wapiti venison or Southland lamb.

Desserts will be made with seasonal Central Otago fruits and all dietary requirements are catered to.

Matching premium wines feature on the menu from highly regarded Central Otago vineyards such as Valli, Mount Edward and Amisfield.

Tourism consumer research published by Tourism New Zealand indicates that local cuisine is the number one activity for 85 per cent of potential visitors from the country’s key international markets.

“Piopiotahi Milford Sound is such a breathtaking fiord, rich in wildlife and iconic scenery,” said Rob Swale, CEO & Owner of Fiordland Jewel.

“By creating this new lunch cruise our aim is to provide guests with a relaxing, luxurious way to enjoy Milford Sound while also enjoying the best cuisine associated with the area.”

The Fiordland Jewel is a New Zealand custom-built catamaran designed to provide guests with 360 degree viewing opportunities of both the wildlife and landscapes in Piopiotahi Milford Sound and the southern fiords of Fiordland National Park.

“To enable access for our guests we collaborate with trusted luxury transport providers to transfer guests from Queenstown and Te Anau by road, helicopter or fixed wing aircraft, creating a seamless experience for our guests.”
