Jetstar To Launch Its 100th Domestic Route Out Of Melbourne (Avalon) Airport

As Jetstar celebrates 20 years since first taking to the skies, the low-fares airline is announcing its 100^th domestic route – operating daily flights between Melbourne (Avalon) Airport and Brisbane from 28 June.

The service will provide more access to South-East Queensland for customers across Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Western Victoria and bring thousands of Queenslanders to Melbourne, the Surf Coast and the Great Ocean Road each year.

Brisbane is the third destination that Jetstar has added to its network out of Melbourne (Avalon), as the airline continues to explore opportunities for more flights to and from Melbourne and Victoria’s second 24/7 international gateway in line with growing demand.

Melbourne (Avalon) to Brisbane will be Jetstar’s 100^th domestic route as the airline continues its 20-year commitment to bringing everyday low fares to Australians, enabling more people to take off more often.

To celebrate the new service, Jetstar will launch a 12-hour sale from 12pm AEDT Wednesday 27 March 2024, offering one-way fares between Melbourne (Avalon) and Brisbane from just $49^.

Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully said that the new route marks an exciting milestone for the airline.

“The launch of flights between Melbourne (Avalon) and Brisbane marks the first time in our history we’ve operated 100 domestic routes, which has been made possible by the introduction of our new state-of-the-art NEO aircraft into our fleet.

“Creating a direct link between Avalon and Brisbane will provide even more options for Victorians wanting to travel to Queensland at an affordable price, as well as boost tourism to the beautiful Surf Coast region and surrounds.

“It’s been 20 years since we first took to the skies, allowing more Australians to travel for less and with every opportunity we’re excited to be expanding  our network further.

“Demand for our everyday low fares is stronger than ever, as we continue to invest in new aircraft, new uniforms and new routes like this one.”
