Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park has officially arrived in Sydney’s northwest, welcoming its first guests to the newly rebranded premium hotel. Formerly known as Courtyard by Marriott Sydney North-Ryde, the transition to Crowne Plaza under IHG Hotels & Resorts has elevated the guest experience with high-quality accommodation and modern amenities.
In the initial phase of its transformation, the hotel has undergone a light design refresh, enhancing public spaces, the restaurant and bar, and conference and event facilities. These updates seamlessly integrate work, leisure, and travel. The second phase will see a comprehensive refurbishment, aligning the property with Crowne Plaza’s global brand standards. Set to commence in the coming months, this upgrade will introduce a contemporary aesthetic, featuring a redesigned lobby with stylish furnishings and striking design elements.
All 196 guest rooms will be reimagined to create more comfortable, flexible spaces suited for business and leisure travellers alike. Recent enhancements include the addition of 55-inch Smart TVs, with further upgrades on the way, such as premium amenities from the vegan and organic skincare brand, Antipodes.
The hotel offers a dynamic environment for blended travel, with inviting social spaces, diverse dining options, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. Ideally located with easy access to Sydney’s CBD, Sydney Olympic Park, and Lane Cove National Park, the hotel is also just a short walk from the new Metro line, providing a convenient 15-minute journey to the city centre. Surrounded by key business hubs, premier shopping, and a vibrant dining scene, the location is perfect for both corporate and leisure travellers.
Leading the property’s transition and future direction, Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park is operated by Trilogy Hotels under a franchise agreement with IHG Hotels & Resorts. Strengthening the leadership team, Tom Marsic has joined as Portfolio General Manager, while Toby Paul has been appointed Hotel Manager.
Toby Paul expressed excitement about the hotel’s debut in the Macquarie Park precinct, home to numerous local and multinational organisations.
“This is an exciting time for Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park as we begin welcoming our first guests. Our vision is to create a space that appeals not only to hotel guests but also to the local community and business hubs. Operational excellence will be our priority as we establish a service standard that our hotel owners, guests, team, and community can take pride in,” Paul said.
Guests can take advantage of the fully equipped fitness centre, stay productive in the 24-hour business centre, or unwind at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Bistro, which serves modern Australian cuisine in a stylish setting with an alfresco dining option.
In the coming months, Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park will unveil further enhancements, including an elevated dining experience led by Bistro’s Executive Chef, Sahil Sabhlok. Signature dishes, such as Slow-Cooked Beef Short Ribs with Celeriac, Pickled White Onions, and Mustard, will bring a fresh perspective to modern Australian cuisine. Chef Sabhlok will also introduce a revamped catering experience for meetings and events in 2025, redefining event dining.
With 259 sqm of versatile meeting and event space, the hotel is well-equipped to host everything from intimate gatherings and board meetings to large-scale seminars and receptions. Featuring six flexible event spaces, on-site event specialists, and catering options—including outdoor BBQ facilities—the hotel is designed to accommodate a wide range of functions.
As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ and Crowne Plaza’s commitment to responsible travel, the hotel has implemented several sustainability initiatives during its transition. Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park is actively reducing waste, eliminating single-use items, and adopting a ‘prevent, donate, divert’ approach to minimising food waste.
With its fresh look, enhanced facilities, and commitment to guest satisfaction, Crowne Plaza Sydney Macquarie Park is set to become a key destination for business and leisure travellers alike.
