For the second year in a row, Pullman Sydney Hyde Park’s huge Pre-Game Mardi Gras Party is back and is set to be even bigger and more fabulous this year!
The event will see several exciting people in attendance including iconic drag queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Maxi Shield who will be hosting the event, social media star, Carla from Bankstown as the DJ for the night and a live performance from Australian singer-songwriter, Alfie Arcuri.
Roaming drag queens and an INGLOT Cosmetics glitter bar where guests can touch up on their makeupbefore the night begins is also included.
With Oxford Street at its doorstep and with front-row access to the starting point of the Mardi Gras Parade just outside the hotel, Pullman Sydney Hyde Park’s exclusive event is the ultimate spot to prepare for this year’s Mardi Gras festivities.
The event will kick off at 5 pm on the 2nd of March and will allow ticket holders to come and go as they please throughout the evening, with the party wrapping up at 9 pm.
Australian drag performer and the first competitor on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Maxi Shield will be entertaining the crowd and a lineup of lip-syncs for the night, ensuring guests are revved and ready before the parade.
A DJ deck will be set up for internet sensation Carla from Bankstown who will be in charge of the music. Carla who went viral on social media during the pandemic as Gladys Berejiklian’s ‘assistant’ and was recently announced as the official host of this year’s Groovin the Moo Festival, will be alongside Maxi giving guestgoers an eventful and exciting night!
The lineup doesn’t stop there with previous The Voice contestant, Alfie Arcuri taking to the stage and providing guests one of the first opportunities to hear his new single, ‘Happy’.
Alfie is the singer-songwriter behind the ‘Love Is Love’ song which was released in 2017 as a song in support of the “Yes” vote of the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey.
Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is providing guests with the chance to look their absolute best for the night with access to a designated glitter bar provided by global makeup brand, INGLOT Cosmetics.
Four of their highly skilled make-up artists will be enhancing guests’ looks using body sparkles, sparkling dust and glitter eyeshadows.

Throughout the night guests will be entertained by drag queens and showgirls as well as multiple LGBTQI+ figures in attendance.
The party doesn’t stop there with a line up of delicious bites that include Smoked Salmon Pate Blini with Golden Caviar, Peking Duck Pancakes with Hoisin Sauce and an assortment of sliders – providing the fuel required for a night of celebrating.
Free-flowing drinks will be on offer throughout the night with highlights including a selection of sparkling, red & white wine, rosé and beer.
