The word is out. Home Valley Station is once again opening its doors for a new season, offering tourists the opportunity to #ConnectWithCountry.
Located along the Pentecost River, on Balanggarra Country in the East Kimberley, Home Valley Station presents more than just a unique, immersive experience – it opens a door to Country, one that will be etched into your memory forever.
Re-opening for the 2024 season on Monday 13 May 2024, Home Valley Station is again welcoming visitors to experience what is commonly referred to as Australia’s last frontier.
Home to the Balangarra people for many thousands of years, the Traditional Owners and managers of Home Valley Station, are looking to share their stories and culture with you.
Being the largest Indigenous managed tourism resort in Western Australia, with 65% local Indigenous staff and growing, you can expect a truly unique, immersive Indigenous tourism experience.
For those who enjoy exploration at their own pace, Home Valley Station offers seven distinct self-guided walking trails, that will give you a glimpse into the rare beauty only found in the Kimberley wilderness.
One of these – the Balanggarra Home Valley Tour – turns back time to walk you through the history of Home Valley Station, taking you to key locations around the station, such as the Cockburn lookout, and venturing across Pentecost River for a breathtaking view over the Balanggarra landscape.
A truly unforgettable experience.
Cissy Gore-Birch, Interim CEO, Balanggarra Ventures Limited, said she’s looking forward to what 2024 is going to bring.
“We are working on a different model of tourism,” said Ms Gore-Birch.
“We employ people who are willing to be a part of this team and want to make changes for our future.”
Families will find comfort in knowing that Home Valley is equipped with full amenities and hosts a range of accommodation options. It also boasts the best playground on the Gibb River Road, keeping the kids entertained while you relax by the pool.
Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation Group Chief Executive Officer, Joe Morrison, praised the team at Home Valley Station for sharing their years of knowledge with tourists in their quest to deliver the ultimate #ConnectWithCountry experience.
“The remarkably high percentage of Indigenous staff at Home Valley Station gives it a true advantage. That advantage is to bring a profoundly authentic Indigenous experience to the lives of those who are fortunate to spend some time at Home Valley,” said Mr Morrison.
Simply put, Home Valley has something for everyone. Whether you’re a solo traveller or seeking an authentic experience to share with the whole family, Home Valley is for you.
Experience Country through the eyes of those who have lived here for many millennia and immerse yourself in the ultimate #ConnectWithCountry experience.
