Q: What was it that motivated you to pursue a career in travel?
A: It wasn’t so much motivation as it was the perfect timing and circumstances. Right out of high school, I was set on a career in events management, which happened to be closely linked with tourism.
After finishing my studies, I ended up working at Flight Centre and found I had a natural knack for it. I became hooked on the industry – the ever-changing landscape, the challenges, the people and the diverse clientele.
Now, 18 years later, I wouldn’t change a thing!
Q: How do you think the travel industry is looking at the moment?
A: I think the travel industry has never looked better! It’s like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Exciting changes and growth are transforming the landscape.
There are countless opportunities emerging, with new brands taking flight and businesses diversifying. It’s truly an exhilarating time to be part of this industry!
Q: Tell us about your aims for Solis Travel and what your company offers clients?
A: I’m committed to redefining what a luxury travel agency can be, from the exceptional team we assemble to the diverse clientele we serve.
We’re focused on creating an environment where our staff is as dynamic and diverse as the experiences we offer. Our team isn’t just highly skilled but deeply passionate about delivering exceptional service and innovative travel solutions.
What truly sets us apart is our dedication to getting to know our clients on a personal level. We don’t just offer off-the-shelf trips; we create each journey specifically for the individual traveller, tailored to their unique needs and desires at that moment.

Q: You’ve just joined the Luxury Travel Collection. What was the thinking behind that decision?
A: Joining the Luxury Travel Collection was a natural fit for us. I see LTC as the future of luxury travel in Australia and wanted to align Solis Travel with an organisation that shares our vision for innovation and excellence.

Q: Why do you think luxury travel seems to be booming at the moment?
A: I think luxury travel is booming because travellers are increasingly craving personalised, tailored experiences and exceptional service.
After a period of restrictions and uncertainty, people are eager to make every trip truly special and unforgettable.
They’ve come to deeply value their time and want to ensure that each journey is a curated, once-in-a-lifetime adventure that reflects their unique tastes and desires.
Q: Is it just the affluent who are booking your tours or are you seeing a wider spread of ages and demographics?
A: Affluence traditionally refers to having a high level of wealth, but today’s luxury traveller isn’t just defined by wealth. It’s more about seeking unique, personalised experiences and first-class service.
We’re noticing that our clients are more diverse than ever. While we still have plenty of affluent travellers, we’re also seeing a broader range of ages and backgrounds interested in our services.
The demand for high-quality, tailored travel experiences is attracting everyone from young professionals and adventurous families to seasoned globetrotters.
It’s clear that what people really want now is memorable, customised journeys, regardless of their financial status.
Q: Finally, what are some of your favourite holiday spots?
A: Wow, that’s a tough question! I have so many favourites, but right now, the Maldives stands out.
This destination truly embodies luxury in a pristine setting. Where else can you swim with whale sharks or manta rays and then indulge in Michelin-starred dining?
It’s a magical combination of natural beauty and world-class experiences that makes the Maldives a top choice for me.
I am also a hotelier nerd so I’ve got the Zannier group firmly on my radar. Their properties in Namibia are on my bucket list.
The unique blend of luxury and immersive experiences they offer in such a memorable and remote location is something I’m really looking forward to exploring.
