As an agent, it’s not often I get to sit back and have the adventure of a lifetime planned for me.

I recently got that opportunity when TruTravels invited me to experience an epic eight-day Croatian Island hop.

Having never visited Croatia before, I was thrilled at the opportunity to experience my own Dalmatian dream. I knew to expect gorgeous beaches, crystal clear water and incredible scenery.

However, what I didn’t expect was that the towns we would visit were not only picturesque but filled with animated locals welcoming us to experience the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle with open arms.

Our adventure started in Split. The atmosphere of this ancient port town was electric. The vibrant streets of Old Town were filled with traveller’s starting their own Croatian dream and those cheering us on to what was about to come.

Waking up on the yacht that was to be our home for the next eight days was a dream. The crew had already set sail and as I walked out from my cabin, I was greeted by the infinite turquoise waters of the Adriatic sea.

Our next stop, Hvar. We spent the afternoon wandering the shore line, leading us to a buzzing beach club.

We drank wine in the Croatian sun with the waves splashing over our feet. We then trekked the winding path to the viewpoint of Hvar, a Spanish fortress overlooking the town as the afternoon sun kissed the sea.

Day three was full of adventure. After a quick dock at Mljet, we grabbed our bikes and set off on a group ride to Mljet National park.

Instructed to bring our togs, it began to make sense once we saw the crystal clear water. We spent the afternoon splashing about in the salt water lakes nestled in the Mediterranean forest.

Dinner that night was an epic event. Our crew put on the much anticipated Captains dinner, which did not disappoint. They cooked up a four-course Croatian feast followed by musical bingo hosted by our legendary tour leader. We spent the evening gathered around our private onboard bar dancing and singing well into the night.

By day four we were starting to mourn the halfway mark of our adventure. Luckily for us, we were off to Dubrovnik, a hustling World Heritage site guarded by ancient walls offering memorable views.

We spent the day wandering the Old Town, getting lost in the narrow cobblestone streets and steep stairways.

Known for its rich vineyards, Korcula brought us a wholesome day five experiencing the best of the best. The morning was spent exploring the picturesque laid back town, before gathering together for a traditional Croatian wine tasting.

Before we knew it, the infamous Tru Floatilla boat party was here. Day six we were treated to flowing prosecco. Naturally, I grabbed my inflatable crocodile and jumped into the sea.

The backdrop of Makarska in the distance was the perfect scene for the first official TruTravels floaty race. Ready, set, go!

On day seven, our time was coming to an end, but Omis beach was the perfect fix for my broken heart. We all treated ourselves to one last dip and soaked up the sun sprawled out on the upper deck.

We were sailing back to Split; back to where it all began. Stumbling across a local band, we spent our last night dancing and singing with locals in the Old Town square.

Undoubtedly stunning, Croatia had just shown me the most spectacular week I could have imagined.

As I reflected on the past eight days, I realised it was my new found TruFam that I would miss the most.

That’s the truth, that’s Tru.
