Destination NSW will host a trade mission to North America in March 2025 to promote NSW to key travel buyers.
Seller applications to join the North America Roadshow 2025 have opened and include a subsidised New Market Product Pathway to enable first-time participation in the targeted trade event.
The roadshow will take place from 9-13 March 2025. It will include full-day workshops and networking events in Los Angeles and New York City with wholesalers, product managers and retail travel advisors.
The North American market is a substantial contributor to the NSW visitor economy and offers significant growth potential.
The United States was NSW’s number one market for visitors and the second highest market for expenditure in the year ending June 2024. NSW welcoming 463,100 visitors from the United States, who contributed $933.6 million to the visitor economy, up 109 per cent compared to the same period in 2019. Among these travellers, 18 per cent also visited regional NSW as part of their trip.
Tourism Australia’s Future of Distribution Insights Report also shows Sydney was the most popular city destination for visitors from the United States in the year ending June 2024, attracting 37 per cent of holiday nights.
NSW welcomed 92,500 visitors from Canada in the year ending June 2024, who contributed $162.5 million in expenditure to the visitor economy, up 91 per cent compared to the same period in 2019.
Destination NSW’s last North America Roadshow was held in 2019. Its 2025 trade mission will provide NSW visitor economy businesses with the opportunity to engage directly with influential travel buyers and strengthen consideration of NSW experiences and destinations on itineraries.
The Destination NSW New Market Product Pathway aims to help NSW visitor economy businesses build a foundation in international distribution, establish key relationships with North American buyers and gain valuable market insights.
