The special ceremony for Seven Seas Prestige was held at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Marghera in Venice.
Honouring the occasion and a longstanding maritime tradition, three specially selected coins were welded onto the keel of the ship.
The three coins were a specially designed and minted Seven Seas Prestige coin, a Venetian coin honouring the location of the ship’s build and a Christopher Columbus US silver dollar.
Set to be delivered in 2026, Seven Seas Prestige boasts one of the highest passenger-to-space ratios in the cruise industry.
Paired with beautifully appointed suites and lavish, thoughtfully designed restaurants, bars, lounges and public areas, the ship will introduce new accommodation categories, including a reimagination of the palatial Regent Suite, plus new dining experiences.
Harry Sommer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Patrik Dahlgren, Executive Vice President, Chief Vessel Operations and Newbuild Officer Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, were present for the special ceremony.
“Seven Seas Prestige represents our continued legacy of elevating the standard of ultra-luxury travel and we are proud to cement our place as leaders in the industry with this exciting milestone,” said Mr Montague.
“Expertise, passion and dedication to perfection are shared values between Regent and Fincantieri and there is no one better placed to bring Seven Seas Prestige to life as we usher in a new age of excellence for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.”
