COMPETITION FOR the cost-conscious Aussie traveller is hotting up with another budget airline set to fly Down Under from April.

Vietjet, Vietnam’s leading low-cost carrier, will commence flights from Ho Chi Minh to Melbourne on April 8 and to Sydney from April 12. Both cities will get six flights a week with plans to expand to Brisbane, Darwin and Adelaide.

Passengers can choose from different ticket classes including SkyBoss business, SkyBoss, deluxe and eco, each offering checked baggage, organic food and free travel insurance.

“With our state-of-the-art fleet and all-in service package, Viejet is poised to expand its international network and boost trade and tourism,” said Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietjet Vice President.

“Our direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney make it easier and more convenient for business, education and tourism between Vietnam and Australia.”
