Luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways is now offering Australian and New Zealand travel advisors easy access to reservations and guest relations support during Australian business hours through its local reservations centre.

The local team, led by Head of Reservations Ian Lyne, recently completed an intensive five weeks of training and is now operating 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

“We’re dedicated to becoming one of the easiest, friendliest and most knowledgeable teams in this market to work with,” said Lyne. “The team has made incredible progress throughout their training, but what’s most satisfying is the exceptionally positive welcome we’ve received from our wonderful trade partners.”

AmaWaterways has paid particular attention to localising aspects of its operations that will most benefit Australian and New Zealand advisors. This includes offering Australian and New Zealand guests more 14-night cruise itineraries, prices in both Australian and New Zealand dollars, localised websites, soon-to-be-released brochures and lucrative commercial arrangements with trade partners.

“We know Aussies and Kiwis travel for longer periods than travellers from some other countries, especially to Europe, and that’s already being highlighted for us by the keen interest in our longer 14-night cruises, such as our Magnificent Europe itinerary,” added Lyne.

Asia is also proving popular for guests so far, with an influx of enquiries and reservations taken for both Mekong River itineraries: Riches of the Mekong and Charms of the Mekong.

Reservations and enquiries have come from all corners of both countries, with the Sydney and New Zealand markets delivering a high proportion to date.

AmaWaterways Managing Director AUNZ Steve Richards is also pleased with the interest AmaWaterways has already received from the trade. “Although AmaWaterways is not yet a household name here, it’s exciting to know over 200,000 Australians and New Zealanders have already cruised on our ships under our previous GSA arrangement and are familiar with the extraordinary experience and service all AmaWaterways guests receive,” said Richards.

Australian and New Zealand travel advisors can now reserve 2025 river cruise and land packages for their clients:
