MEMPHIS TOURISM is hosting two private concerts for travel agents featuring headline artists Marcus Scott and The Bo-Keys.

The exclusive events will give agents the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Memphis’ most respected artists, who are being brought to Australia for the highly anticipated Blues on Broadbeach festival.

Marcus Scott is known as the “Memphis Soul Man” and for his electrifying, compelling and soulful vocals and performances.

He will be backed by the multi-instrumental The Bo-Keys, credited with keeping the spirit of classic Memphis music alive while also writing a new chapter for the sound and style that keeps it relevant and contemporary.

“We’re very lucky to have such a high number of talented musicians hailing from Memphis and excited to be able to bring them here for these exclusive events as well as the festival,” said Chris Ingram, Director of Memphis Tourism Australia & New Zealand.

The exclusive Memphis Tourism events will take place at The Toff in Melbourne on May 17 and Zeta Bar in Sydney on May 18.

The event is aimed at travel business owners and provides them with motivation, actionable tools and the ‘tried and tested’ strategies needed to create and sustain a strong digital footprint online for their travel business.

There will be a variety of practical workshops, inspiring conversations and expert speakers.

“We are here to create impact and implement ‘real’ change in our industry and believe you have to be prepared to go against the grain and break a few rules along the way,” said Stephanie Myers, Director of TTS.

“It’s time to shake things up, step outside that box and start doing travel in a fun new way.”

TRIP OF A LIFETIME FOR THOSE WHO WOULD BE DAVID

A NEW game has just been launched offering players the chance to win the holiday of a lifetime.

Explore Worldwide is inviting agents and consumers to compare their travel history with that of Sir David Attenborough via an interactive web map that shows all the locations he has presented from over the past 70 years.

Simply enter the destinations you have visited into the interactive map and you’ll go into the prize draw.

The promotion runs until May 31 and the winner will get to choose from one of three trips to either Madagascar, Costa Rica or the Orkney Islands.

The Explore team analysed more than 100 episodes of Sir David’s documentaries, revealing he has presented TV shows from 333 locations in 83 different countries.

The survey comes hot on the heels of the veteran broadcaster’s last travel documentary, Wild Isles.

“By comparing your own travel history with Attenborough’s, our interactive map provides an original way to inspire people to keep on exploring our incredible planet,” said Michael Edwards, Managing Director at Explore.

“His sense of adventure and curiosity has inspired so many, and with his final documentary airing we wanted to celebrate his travel achievements.”

FEAST YOUR EYES ON AN NCL PRIZE

A $5,000 VISA gift card, one of three cruise cabins and a coveted invitation to an exclusive party.

These are the prizes on offer in a new ‘Learn & Earn’ program for Australian trade partners.

Organised by Norwegian Cruise Line, the incentive encourages agents to upskill with quizzes, webinars and modules at NCL University (NCLU).

There will be three semesters for NCL’s ‘Class of 2023′, each focused on a different destination. The first semester will be on Asia and runs until May 31. The second will be on the Americas (July 1-31) and then Europe (September 1-30).

Agents who complete their assignments will see their name on the NCL Honour Board. After learning about each of the three destinations, they can also earn double Partners First Rewards points on relevant bookings during the semester.

To be in the running, agents should check they have a login to Norwegian Central – NCL’s one-stop-shop for trade training and resources, including NCLU.

The incentive is open to all travel partners, whether they are signing up to NCLU for the very first time or already part way through completing selected modules.
