Accommodation Australia’s one-stop digital platform for hospitality, travel and tourism is one step closer to reality with the engagement of technology company, Tomahawk.
The digital platform, is being developed by Accommodation Australia thanks to a $10 million grant from the Australian Government, executed last year.
AA CEO Michael Johnson said Tomahawk had impressive experience in the sector, most notably New Zealand’s Go with Tourism programme, and had been chosen to develop the game changing platform.
“We are delighted with this appointment and cannot wait to see the platform come to life later this year,” said Mr Johnson.
“The programme in New Zealand was very successful and after seeing what they can do we believe we can create something even better here.”
Tomahawk Company Director, John Hayson said he was thrilled to have been selected as Accommodation Australia’s technology partner.
“We view it as a privilege to enhance and adapt our expertise to cater to Australia’s distinctive requirements,” said Hayson.
“Witnessing Accommodation Australia’s inclusive approach, engaging all stakeholders across tourism and hospitality sectors from inception, is so impressive and reflects their commitment to exceeding the needs of individuals, states, and potential future candidates for the industry.”
“With the support and experience of our Advisory Committee during Discovery, we are taking big steps forward.” said Mr Johnson.
“The platform will allow employers, existing and prospective workers, students and international visitors to connect to education, employment and other vital career information,” said Mr Johnson.
“This will help with our two biggest challenges by boosting the hospitality, tourism and travel workforce and promoting careers in the industry for the next generations to come.”
