Q: What was your first job and what did you learn from it that you still use today?
A: My first job was at a local surf shop where I mastered the art of customer service, helping people find the right gear, despite the fact that I couldn’t surf to save my life.
I quickly learned how to read people, build rapport and make a sale without making it feel like a pitch. Those skills? I still use them every day.
Q: What’s the first thing you do when you start a new position?
A: When I start a new position I make an effort to get to know the team. Fortunately, everyone in my partnerships team at Intrepid are legends, so it’s easy to hit the ground running. It’s all about building solid connections and working together!
Q: What advice would you give someone wanting to start a career in travel now?
A: I’m still relatively new to the travel world and young in the industry, but what I’ve learned so far is to approach every experience with curiosity and an open mind.
At Intrepid, we’re all about connecting people with real, authentic travel experiences and that’s something I keep in mind every day.
The key is to never stop learning, whether you’re exploring new destinations, building relationships, or simply embracing the journey ahead.
Q: What did the pandemic teach you about yourself?
A: The pandemic taught me that I’m not built for being confined, I’m an explorer at heart. Staying still for too long felt like a bad Netflix binge that never ends.
It made me crave travel even more and that new experiences and meeting people are what I’m all about.

Georgia in Sapa, Vietnam
Q: If you hadn’t gone into travel, what career path might you have taken?
A: If I hadn’t gone into travel, I’d probably still be in my past media role, working in advertising sales.
It was a great experience, teaching me a lot about strategy and building relationships, though I think I prefer selling the idea of adventure over ad space now!
Q: How do you think the travel industry is looking at this moment in time?
A: The travel industry is back and better than ever! After all the challenges, people are more eager than ever to get out and explore again. There’s a real sense of optimism and excitement in the air
Q: Who would you most like to sit next to on a plane, living or dead?
A: I’d love to sit next to Miley Cyrus. Huge Hannah Montana fan here, so I’d try not to fangirl. We’d probably end up singing ‘Party in the USA’ – my go-to karaoke song!
Q: What are some of your favourite spots around the world and why?
A: My favourite spot? Australia, no question! Litchfield National Park in the NT is top of the list – waterfalls, wild landscapes and crocs that could probably eat me for breakfast.
I’m obsessed with saltwater crocs, so if you ever have a croc question, I’m your person. I’ve got more croc facts than I care to admit!
Q: What is your best travel story?
A: My best travel story would have to be from a trip to Sapa in Vietnam with my dad. I surprised him with a two-day hike when we arrived and he thought he could tackle the whole thing in thongs – classic dad move, right?
Needless to say, he was a little out of his depth, especially with the steep climbs and rugged terrain. But hey, we made it through and it’s a memory we’ll never forget!
Q: What are you most looking forward to about working with Intrepid Travel?
A: Being part of a B Corp company that actually walks the talk. They care about sustainability and making a real impact, and that’s something I can totally get behind.
Plus, it’s going to be fun being part of a team that’s all about doing good while having a blast doing it!
