There were drums, there were dancers and there were sundowners. All that was missing was an elephant or two as Bench Africa launched their glossy new brochure at a special function last night.

Members of the Bench Africa team – including managing director Glen Rawlings who had flown in from Kenya – mingled with travel agents, African suppliers and trade media at the event held at the Four Hundred Bar & Kitchen in North Sydney.

“Tonight is a bit of a milestone for us, as the last event that we held similar to this was actually our 50th anniversary back in 2019 so quite a bit has happened in those last few years,” said Andy Kirkman, Head of Trade Relations.

“We’re very proud and happy to be back in front of you and being able to actually do something like this and celebrate our new brochure.”

Described as the industry’s most ‘trade-friendly’ Africa brochure, the impressive 112-page brochure is designed to streamline the travel planning process for agents and clients alike.

It features a carefully curated selection of Africa’s best destinations, with new itineraries and innovative features tailored to the needs of the trade.

Apart from an expanded itinerary collection, the brochure also features Bench Africa’s best-selling itineraries and a dedicated family travel section.

Mr Kirkman also revealed that Bench Africa is preparing to launch a fully redesigned website. The sleek, user-friendly site will integrate seamlessly with the brochure, providing agents with an intuitive tool for presenting African travel options to clients.

“This evening is more than just about celebrating the brochure. It’s about a celebration of a shared passion for Africa. It’s about a celebration of joint success in all of us, bringing African travel back to the forefront of Australian travellers,” added Mr Kirkman.

Mr Kirkman said Bench Africa had been enjoying record sales in recent months and thanked travel agents for making this happen.

“Our latest brochure has actually been crafted with you as a travel agency or travel agent in mind and you’ll find it packed with fresh itineraries. You’ve also got our expert insights, offering inspiration for creating journeys for your clients.

“The new brochure represents the largest dedicated collection of African itineraries that you will have on your shelves.”
