Qantas has announced a new distribution model for travel agents to access the airlines content.

In an email to agents, Kathryn Robertson, Qantas Executive Manager – Global Sales & Distribution outlined details of the change, including some costs:
Dear Agency Partner,

For the past five years we have been on a journey to transform retailing for our agency partners. The investments we’ve made in IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) are designed to enable a better booking and servicing experience for our agents and customers well into the future. With exciting features that are either difficult or just not possible through traditional systems, Qantas NDC enables you to customise and personalise trips and offers to meet our mutual customers’ needs.

From 1 July next year, we’ll offer several ways to access Qantas content, with varying costs, including surcharge free options depending on your chosen booking channel.

The table below provides a summary of booking channels and any costs which may apply.

For you, our partners, we’re excited that Qantas’ NDC can enable the ability to better sell ancillaries, access new revenue opportunities through dynamic commission, as well as more efficient servicing with automated processes that reduce the risk of ADMs.+

Importantly, Qantas’ NDC has several benefits that may be provided to your customers from better pricing, servicing, and improved disruption handling.

Your partnership is integral to us, and we want all our agency partners and customers to benefit from Qantas’ NDC. As we enter this transition period, our teams are dedicated to continuing to work closely with you and support your readiness to access Qantas NDC content.

We appreciate you coming on this journey with us, we know together we can transform the way we service and support our customers.
