Mizunara Cask (Roppongi)

One of my favourite whisky memories from my many visits to Japan are evenings savouring Japan’s vibrant nightlife.

Mizunara Cask in Roppongi is a welcome contrast to Roppongi’s lively nightlife, making it an ideal spot to unwind and savour world-class whiskies.

Named after the rare Mizunara oak used to age premium whiskies like our latest Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo, this refined whisky bar celebrates Japanese whisky craftsmanship where visitors are invited to enjoy a curated selection of rare Japanese and Scotch whiskies in a sleek and tranquil setting.

Bar Hakozaki (Nihonbashi)

This is a hidden gem in Nihonbashi that I frequently visit. It is a classic yet refined space that celebrates Tokyo’s balance of traditional and modern.

Experience the incredible attention to detail in every pour served by the bartenders, their artistry craft offering a moment of tranquillity amid the bustling city.

Bar Mori (Ginza)

A must-visit for me while in Tokyo is Bar Mori, a hidden local establishment known for its intimate setting, impeccable service and the famous “Mori Martini’.

Located in Tokyo’s luxury district, it brings a sense of understated elegance, with its carefully curated list of premium whiskies. With only a handful of seats, visitors can expect a personalised experience.

D-Heart Man (Ginza)

This is an iconic whisky destination located in the heart of Ginza, known for its extensive collection of premium spirits and dedication to whisky culture.

The space embodies the spirit of Ginza with its blend of luxury and tradition, offering whisky lovers an experience that is educational and indulgent.

From the leather seating to polished wood, experience the warm and inviting atmosphere dedicated to the craft of whisky. For those in search of a bite to eat, this popular spot boasts the best pork sandwich in Tokyo by far.

Modernism (Roppongi)

Welcome to this sleek, stylish, high-end restaurant embodying Japan’s intangible cultural heritage “Washoku”, blending the Japanese spirit of dedication and craftmanship to create works of art on a plate.

An inspiration for Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo was the unexpected, but always exciting flavours that I’ve experienced in Japanese cuisine, similar to the offers by Modernism.

While the venue is set in a contemporary setting, the menu has been crafted to complement their creative whisky-based cocktails that reflects Tokyo’s dynamic energy.

Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is now available. RRP: $195.
