MORE GOOD news for the travel industry this month with companies and destinations reporting strong demand for 2023 and beyond.

Globus family of brands (GFOB) reported that between Boxing Day and January 10, online traffic in Australia was up 47 per cent for Globus, 44 per cent for Cosmos and 42 per cent for Avalon compared to the same period in 2019-20.

Heading into 2023, GFOB will offer a total of 512 tours across the three brands, operating in 67 countries across the world. In addition, new tours have been added to each brand portfolio for 2023.

Agents can still snap up Avalon, Globus and Cosmos 2023 New Year’s deals for clients, with offers available on bookings made by February 28.

Meanwhile Singapore’s international visitor arrivals (IVA) reached 6.3 million in 2022, exceeding forecasts of between four and six million visitors.

Barring any unexpected circumstances, tourism activity is now expected to recover to pre-pandemic levels by 2024.

Australia was in the top four markets in terms of visitor arrivals, with 565,650 arrivals in 2022, behind Indonesia, India and Malaysia.

Tourism receipts reached $SG8.96 billion between Jan-Sep 2022, with Australia among the top spenders ($SG633 million) behind Indonesia and India.

The Singapore Tourism Board expects the tourism sector to continue its growth momentum this year, anticipating IVAs to reach between 12-14 million in 2023 – at least double that of 2022 – while tourism receipts are forecasted to reach between $18-21 billion.
