Q: What excites you the most about becoming business owners of Helloworld Travel Rowville?
A: Having both been in the industry for a long time, the natural progression for us is to become owners and enjoy everything that ownership has to offer.
As a team, we are stronger together and looking forward to sharing this experience and everything we have learnt over the years from both of our past owners/managers – Sue McNiece, Deb Shannon and Narelle Williams.
Q: The agency has been a big part of the local area for 32 years. How are you going to continue that legacy?
A: The support and positive response that we have received from existing clients has been overwhelming!
We are thrilled to continue to be involved in the community with continued sponsorships of clubs that the Williams family were involved with, along with supporting additional charities that we as owners feel passionate about.
Q: Is there one particular segment of the travel business that’s booming for you at the moment and what are the hot destinations right now?
A: Europe, Europe and more Europe! Cruising, touring or independent, we are booking it all! And we love it! No two itineraries are the same.
We have also seen an increase in Japan, South Africa and probably the most interest since the world opened again has been in Vietnam. From families to honeymooners and everything in between, we are finding Vietnam is the ‘hottest destination’.
Q: Do you consider it a risk becoming managers and taking on the responsibility of running the agency?
A: Naturally, there are risks involved, but we understand that without taking risks, there is no opportunity for growth.
We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to tackling the challenges that will come our way, knowing that they will bring valuable rewards for ourselves and our families.
Q: Finally, I am sure you’d like to pay tribute to retiring owners John and Kath Williams (pictured below) as they enter their well-earned retirement?
A: We would like to thank the Williams family – John, Kath, Michelle and Narelle – for trusting us to take the reins on their baby that they have worked so hard on and nurtured for 32 years.
We know we will do you proud.
