Singapore Airlines (SIA) is celebrating a significant milestone in its 40-year service to Brisbane, with the reintroduction of a fourth weekly flight to the city this week.

In response to growing travel demand, SIA has expedited the launch of an additional weekly flight to Brisbane, starting on Sunday 4 August, months ahead of the initially planned November 2024 launch.

This enhanced frequency gives travellers greater flexibility, convenience, and seamless connectivity through Brisbane. Passengers will enjoy the fastest onward connections to London, Zurich, and Rome, along with improved connectivity to destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai and Johannesburg.

Accelerating SIA’s strategy to boost capacity across the Australian network in 2024, the new service, SQ266, will operate four times weekly, increasing SIA’s total direct flights between Brisbane and Singapore to 25 per week.

Operated by SIA’s Airbus A350-900 Medium Haul Aircraft, the additional flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday follow the success of SIA’s supplementary flights during the 2023 end-of-year peak period. The additional capacity, to be deployed year-round, is a result of proactive efforts by Brisbane Airport and the Queensland Government through the Attracting Aviation Investment Fund (AAIF), which aims to accelerate Queensland’s post-COVID economic recovery.

The service enhancement reinforces SIA’s dedication to the Australian market and its commitment to providing world-class air travel experiences to and from Brisbane, celebrating four decades of excellence.
