The countdown is on for the arrival of the biggest cruise ship Princess Cruises’ has ever based in Australia year-round, with under 100 days to go until the stunning Crown Princess sails into Sydney.
Debuting Down Under on Saturday October 26, the 113,561-tonne Crown Princess carries 3090 guests, making her the biggest ship to sail full-time from Australia.
During her first year cruising from Australia, Crown Princess will contribute $120 million to the national economy as she makes 78 visits to 21 different ports around the country – a record for any Princess ship.
Crown Princess will not only be the biggest Princess ship based in Australia, she will also set sail on the biggest world cruise ever undertaken by any cruise line in either the Southern or Northern Hemisphere with 3000 guests set to embark on an epic 113-night circumnavigation of the globe departing local shores in May 2025.
Princess Cruises Senior Vice President Asia Pacific, Europe and UK Stuart Allison said the full-time deployment of a ship the size of Crown Princess reflected Princess’ continuing commitment to the Australian market.
“As the biggest Princess ship ever based in Australian year round, Crown Princess’ capacity is 50 per cent more than any other Princess ship based full time in our waters,” Mr Allison said.
“Her deployment is a major milestone which reflects Australians’ enduring love of cruising and loyalty to Princess in Australia.”
“Furthermore, Crown’s world cruise in 2025 will be bigger than ever before with 3000 guests travelling together continuously on a full world cruise. Never have that many people come together to sail the globe on a Princess ship which speaks to the unique popularity world cruising has in the region.”
Mr Allison said Crown Princess’ offerings over 12 months included a record season of Australian cruises, ranging from 3 to 28 nights with six unique itineraries and 21 maiden port calls.
“Plus with almost 900 of her staterooms featuring private balconies – more than any other ship ever based here full-time – Crown Princess will give more Australians the chance to cruise in style.”
Other Crown Princess features include more than 200 suites and mini-suites, over a dozen dining options including popular speciality restaurants Sabatini’s and Crown Grill, and a raft of activities from live entertainment in the Princess Theatre and blockbuster movies on the giant Movies Under The Stars screen to four swimming pools and the luxurious Lotus Spa.
Over the 2024/25 Summer Season, Crown Princess will be joined by Diamond Princess and Royal Princess sailing from Australia. Between them, all three ships will offer 117 departures from 2 to 113 days between October 2024 to September 2025, and will sail from seven different ports for the first time: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle (for Perth), Hobart and Auckland.
