Marriott International Fiji Hotels celebrated World Ocean Day on June 8th with a launch of a signature sustainable cocktail inspired by the Pacific Ocean. Each property within the cluster will craft their own unique version of the sustainable cocktail, embodying the spirit of the ocean and sustainability. Guests can enjoy the Wasawasa at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay or the Maravu at Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort.
The exclusive cocktails will be sold across the cluster until 26th June with 50% of sales being donated to the Mamanuca Environmental Society (MES) contributing to the foundations work to conserve the ocean within the region.
As part of the Good Travel program, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay invited guests and associates to participate in a series of sustainability driven activities such as mangrove planting, a litter pick up collecting 24 kilos of rubbish, planting 100 mangrove seedlings at the resort’s restoration site, and attaching 140 coral fragments to two metal frames which were then transferred to the Coral nursery site at North Point.
In collaboration with the Mamanuca Environmental Society (MES) Fiji Marriott Resort Momi also invited 10 students from Savusavu Public School to participate in coral planting alongside the children from the resorts Turtle Kid’s Club.
In additional to the World Ocean Day activities, Marriott International Fiji Hotels are dedicated to preserving the oceans surrounding the region and have replaced all plastic amenities across their guestrooms with residential amenities, reinforcing its commitment to minimising use of plastic, and reducing carbon footprint.
