Today, Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled a host of new FUN-filled, Grinch-inspired offerings ahead of its second year of ‘Grinchmas in July’ sailings kicking off this month, including the first-ever cruise ship appearance of the Grinch’s furry friend Max.
Back by popular demand for the second year, the Grinch-themed cruises bring the best of ‘Christmas in July’ traditions and Dr Seuss delight to sea, with Carnival Splendor completely transformed into a magical winter wonderland for four special sailings.
This season, Carnival Cruise Line is thrilled to announce the cruise ship debut of Max, the Grinch’s loyal canine companion, as a special guest on board for the first time ever. Passengers can look forward to Max joining the Grinch for exclusive appearances and meet-and-greet sessions, including a special ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ story time reading in kids club, plus the opportunity to capture unforgettable holiday moments in photos with both the Grinch and Max against new photo backdrops.
Carnival is also dialling up the FUN with an array of new onboard activities for guests of all ages. Festive fans can prepare to be amazed by a new Splendor glittering Christmas tree which will be lit up in all its glory and feature ‘real’ snow falling. For the first time on a Grinchmas sailing, this year will include Carnival’s festive ‘Holiday Show’, a magical performance that’s sure to make your heart grow three sizes, with singers, dancers and a surprise guest flown in from the North Pole.
Guests will also enjoy new entertainment, activities and parties including a Grinchmas ‘Who-Liday Deck Party’ with an all-green dress code, Grinchmas Family Games and Grinchmas Scavenger Hunt as well as themed arts and crafts. New specialty themed food and beverage delights will be on offer including the ‘Cindy-Lou Who’ mocktail and ‘Mistletoe Martini’ as well as a ‘Grinchmas Long Lunch at Sea’.
As well as the new offerings, last year’s entertainment favourites will be returning, including special guest appearances from the Grinch, the ‘Jingle Bell Jam’ soundtrack, carolling, Christmas tree lighting ceremony and the much-loved ugly Christmas sweater competition.
On the new offerings, Carnival Cruise Line VP Kara Glamore said, “We’re counting down the days to Grinchmas in July and couldn’t be more excited to bring back the FUN of a wintery Christmas experience to our Aussie guests. This year, we’ve upped the Grinch-ified offerings that our guests are bound to fall in love with, on top of the 45 activities they’ve already come to know and love on a Carnival cruise. We can’t wait to share these merry moments with everyone onboard this winter.”
The Grinchmas in July sailings form part of Carnival’s ongoing Dr Seuss partnership and ‘Seuss at Sea’ offerings, including the Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast, interactive Seuss Storytime, and Seussapalooza Parade.
