Carnival Corporation the world’s largest cruise company, today announced it was named one of America’s Best Employers for Diversity for 2024 by Forbes, a leading source of business news worldwide. Of the top 500 companies included in the listing across 24 major industries, Carnival Corporation ranked first in the travel and leisure industry and among the top 100 overall.
Presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, America’s Best Employers for Diversity was determined through an independent survey of more than 170,000 U.S.-based employees working for companies with at least 1,000 people. Respondents were asked to review their employers based on a series of statements regarding age, gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQIA+ and general diversity in their current workplace. Participants were also given the chance to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stand out either positively or negatively with regard to diversity. Based on these personal and public evaluations, and an evaluation of diversity-related best practices – such as the presence of resource groups, the publication of diversity data and the percentage of women in board and executive positions – Forbes recognized only the top 500 companies out of thousands of organizations.
“We are a better company when the diversity of race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, culture, beliefs and other backgrounds are celebrated,” said Bettina Deynes, global chief human resources officer for Carnival Corporation. “We strive to be the travel and leisure industry’s employer of choice by providing our team members with an inclusive and supportive company culture and work environment, and we’re honored to see our efforts recognized among others who share in our commitment.”
This recognition as a top employer for diversity in the U.S. builds on a series of recognitions Carnival Corporation has earned for its companywide operations and dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion, and fostering a positive workplace environment for all employees. Among the numerous awards and recognitions, the company was named by Forbes as one of the World’s Best Employers for 2023 and one of the Best Companies for Latinos by Latino Leaders Magazine in 2022. The company also earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index, designating the company as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality for the seventh consecutive year.
This recognition underscores Carnival Corporation’s commitment to its team members and cultivating an atmosphere of openness, respect and trust. The company’s success is a direct result of its over 160,000 employees, who represent 150 countries around the globe and are at the heart of inspiring unforgettable happiness for its millions of guests around the world.
