Yes, the rumours are correct. There are airfares to Europe available right now for less than $400.

How is that possible? Well, it appears the answer is Scoot.

The affordable subsidiary of Singapore Airlines has hit the headlines after launching a massive March sale.

With airfares starting from $159* Aussies can start planning their dream getaways to over 60 destinations including Greece, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and more.  

Scoot is offering discounted flights to a range of popular destinations including Athens (from $405* SYD/ $395* MEL/ $355* PER), Singapore (from $198*/ $190*/ $159*) Osaka (from $345/$335/$315*), Bangkok (from $230/$220/$189*), Denpasar ($230, $225, $189*) plus more destinations, departing from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. 

Travellers looking to make the most of the sale will be able to book until 25th March 11:59PM AEDT.
